چکیده

Objective: To determine the recurrence-free survival (RFS) in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of oral cavity (OSCC) Methodology: It was a longitudinal study conducted on oncology who were diagnosed as having and treated our tertiary care hospital department medical oncology. Patients followed for evaluation disease recurrence. The Chi-square test used to see association between outcomes clinicopathological features tumor. Results: Of 97 patients, 85(87.62%) had no disease, however, 12(12.37%) residual/recurrent first post-treatment follow-up scans performed three months after completion curative treatment. Subsequent showed recurrence 87(89.69%) out which 52 (59.77%) loco-regional while 35(40.22%) combined systemic lung(n=18) being most common site distant metastasis. mean RFS 15 (IQR= 8, 26). lymph vascular invasion (LVI), perineural (PNI), positive margin, extranodal extension(ENE) significantly higher risk progressive primary treatment, follow up scans. relationships treatment LVI, PNI, margin ENE statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: Our shows that there is frequency OSCC among extra nodal extension, perineural-invasion, margins. Clinical trials are required identify other poor prognostic factors need developing model risk-stratification such patients.

FOXP3 Subcellular Localization Predicts Recurrence in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Forkhead box protein P3 (FOXP3) expression in tumor infiltrating CD4(+)T cells is generally associated with an intrinsic capacity to suppress tumor immunity. Based on this notion, different studies have evaluated the prognostic value of this maker in cancer but contradictory results have been found. Indeed, even within the same cancer population, the presence of CD4(+)FOXP3(+)T cells has been a...

The recurrence and survival of oral squamous cell carcinoma: a report of 275 cases

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a common malignant tumor of the head and neck, and recurrence is an important prognostic factor in patients with OSCC. We explored the factors associated with recurrence of OSCC and analyzed the survival of patients after recurrence. Clinicopathologic and follow-up data of 275 patients with OSCC treated by surgery in the Cancer Institute and Hospital of Ti...
